Strelitz Hotel Branding

The Strelitz Hotel & Parlor was a senior level capstone branding project involving Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Integrated Marketing Communication majors.

Our team was tasked with creating a complete branding package. We were assigned a location and then chose a city attraction to partner with and a modern artist as an inspiration source. We also drew inspiration from the life of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of King George III.

(All work shown here is my own, although input from my team and collaboration was part of the process.)

To combine Victorian influences with an element of modernity, we used floral elements and bold colors. For a subtle surprise for guests, I created these room keys using duotoned portraits of the king and queen.

A helpful information booklet for the guests, a rack card, and branded toiletries help carry out the brand throughout the hotel.

The Strelitz Hotel would be advertised through direct mail campaigns, so I came up with three different formats of a direct mail ad. To make the ads feel unique and upscale, we used interesting folds and diecuts.

My favorite direct mail project was this “infinity card” (pictured below) which folds four different ways and reveals a new picture each time. These were targeted towards brides and contained information about our rooms, partnership with a wedding venue, hotel restaurant, and concierge service.
