This year I had the amazing opportunity to be featured in the 2020-2021 Petit Jean Yearbook! These paintings were used as the endsheets of the book. I worked with the student editor, who presented the idea to paint the same scene of Harding’s campus but in two different seasons. Harding’s campus is especially beautiful in the changing seasons, and the bright colors lend themselves to paintings so well. The theme of the book was “Invitation”, so we thought the “Welcome to Harding” sign was the perfect view of campus.

The autumn scene is featured in the beginning of the book, and the spring is featured at the back, symbolic of how students arrive in the fall and leave in the spring.
Below you can see the originals compared to the final print of the books. The coloring and contrast changed slightly throughout the scanning and printing process.
